Anomaly

The Anomaly series:

This began with drum samples provided by DangerousBear.com.

I had an idea in my head to take drum samples and turn them into FX/atmospheres....

So Anomaly Volume 1 was born - Dark FX, Strange Atmospheres...

This was originally meant to be a single library for the Wusikstation vsti. But after making the FX for the first Volume, and then making presets for it in other formats, it began to take on a life of its own. I discovered that by taking these sounds into different virtual instruments, such as Absynth, Kontakt, Dimension Pro and others, I could get vastly different sonic results. I also discoved that I wanted other sounds to combine with the FX... But always with the general idea behind the first library - dark atmospheres, strange visions, ethereal and brooding aural ambience.

The Anomaly series is composed of 6 Volumes:

Anomaly - Dark FX, Strange Atmospheres
Anomaly 2 - Drones
Anomaly 3 - Pads
Anomaly IV - Wasteland - Textures
Anomaly V - Voices of the Dead - haunting whispers and Enochian
Anomaly VI - Textures


The idea behind the complete Anomaly series is to have a set of sounds that can create subtle, haunting, mysterious, evocative and even sometimes harsh sounds which you can intertwine to create any kind of atmosphere or sound bed with.

Each soundset, from Volume 2 onward, comes with two different batches of presets. There will be one batch that uses the sounds only from that particular soundset. And there is a second batch that uses sounds from that soundset and all previous Volumes....

Current formats include:

Universal .SFZ and .WAV which comes with presets for Wusikstation, Absynth, Kontakt, Dimension Pro and Rapture .

After working on Anomaly, which started as beat samples kindly provided by John at DangerousBear.com and then turning them into all kinds of different things.... I wondered what would happen if I started with taking some synths that used basic sine, saw, square and triangle waveforms and seeing what I could turn them into.....

So I started making quick, test presets in a variety of VSTi's that used those basic waveforms as a sound source. Those that used more complex waveforms - I only used the other waveforms as FM modulators....

Over time, this experiment built up to where I had many stages of sampling and then taking those sounds and doing weird and disturbing things to them, and then taking them into instruments that used samples as sources and combining them to make presets that were again sampled.....

I did this over and over again until I arrived at a decent amount of what I call "seed sounds", which I finally combined using a variety of instruments to make the final sounds....

Dreams and Nightmares currently is at 3 Volumes and the available formats are:

Universal .SFZ and .WAV with presets for Wusikstation, Dimension Pro, Rapture, Absynth and Kontakt.

.SF2 (soundfont)

Volume 1 is also available in .vfs format for BigTick Audio's Rhino.
